Outputting Settings/Parameters

It is useful at times to provide an output that reports the current parameter values (or settings). This is particularly useful when dealing with sensors or processes where the settings (such as gain, sensitivity, etc.) might change during operation, or when one wishes to be able to retrieve the characteristics of various sensors in a disparate network.

In the example below, the sensor is one where various modes of operation have been defined. Setting the mode changes several parameters values. One can make the reporting of these parameter settings available as output by simply linking to the parameter definition as highlighted belo (using the xlink:href attribute which references the appropriate DataRecord id (in this case "CURRENT_SETTINGS").
